They’ve been through everything together, and I mean everything. Squeezed tightly in their mommy’s womb as they began to form their little bodies. When it came time for birth, one said to the other, I’ll go first and the other said, I’ll be right behind you. Then into the big bright world together. They have always been right next to each other.
Twins share a special bond.
Identical twins share so many characteristics in common, such as eye color, hair color, weight and height, and of course their faces look very similar.
According to Twins.org.au, one of the most common questions people ask twins is whether they are a mirror image of each other.
“‘Mirror image’ is a type of identical twinning. It can happen in any type of identical twins. When the split occurs late – more than a week after conception – the twins can develop reverse asymmetric features.”
When these two little tykes turn to each other in the crib, do they see a mirrored image?
How do you tell identical twins apart?
Very Well Family, says that body anomalies like birthmarks, moles, and freckles will differ among individuals. A tip on telling twins apart …
“As you get to know your twins, you’ll identify physical clues that will help you distinguish between them.”
Another good tip shows that each twin will develop their own personality traits.
“A person’s identity is more than just what they look like. Personality, expression, communication, emotions—all of these traits vary among individuals.”
Another common question is whether or not twins have mental telepathy. The topic is discussed in the book, “The Encyclopedia of Superstitions.”
“It is a very common belief that twins, especially identical twins, are united by a strong bond of sympathy that each knows when danger or misfortune threatens the other, even when they are separated. In the same mysterious way, any special state of happiness or wellbeing in one of the pair is reflected in the feelings of the other. It is often said that if one twin passes, the other will not live long thereafter.”
It’s very cool to see these twins talking it up, checking each other out, and having a deep conversation seemingly finishing each other’s sentences.
That twin bond is fierce in these kiddos.
At five months old these two are gabbing it up big time. According to WhatToExpect.com, their development will include,
“He can discern tiny items and lots of colors now, as well as track moving objects. He’s a big babbler too, so encourage his chatter by talking up a storm yourself.”
Identical Twins are very unique.
Estimates show that only three percent of the population are identical twins. This unique nature of twins is something that fascinates people around the world. So it isn’t any wonder that some of the famous among us are twins.
Some celebrity identical twins include Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, who used their notoriety as child actors to create a successful brand; actors James and Oliver Phelps, known for portraying the Weasley twins in the “Harry Potter” movies; and stars of 90s sitcom “Sister, Sister,” Tia and Tamera Mowry.
